Screen Shot 2016-06-01 at 7.04.38 AMQuality Hereford females will headline the first beef bred female sale for north-east Victoria and southern NSW to be held by AuctionsPlus.

hreRestockers will have access to PTIC heifers (July calving), two-year-old first calf heifers, PTIC five-year-old cows and third calving cows in the June 3 sale.

Elders Holbrook livestock buyer Phil Gledhill has about 500 head assessed for the sale, including the tops of the polled and horned heifers at Injemira Beef Genetics, Book Book, NSW.

The EU accredited Injemira blood heifers, aged 26-28 months, were depastured to Injemira Redford sons for a July calving over seven weeks.

Mr Gledhill said the offering was a great opportunity to secure high quality breeders rarely offered.

He said the successful purchaser, or purchasers, would have the option to purchase the balance of the heifers if required.

Brooksby Pastoral Adaminaby, NSW, will offer 70 Hereford cows, five years, depastured to Angus bulls for nine weeks.

“These cows were the lead drafts out of the western district sales at Casterton and Hamilton in 2012,’’ Mr Gledhill said.

“This is a genuine sale and they are great future breeders.’’

Mr Gledhill said widespread rain and tightening cattle supplies meant the feature female sale was an ideal opportunity to secure spring calving females.

Kensal Green Beef, Bungowannah, NSW, is offering 25 Poll Hereford cows, third calvers, joined to an Angus bull, while Robin Warner, Danetree Herefords, Wooragee, Vic, will offer 10 dehorned Danetree blood heifers, two years, with four to six week old Angus cross calves.
