An extensive array of electronic identification (EID) equipment will be on display for producers to view and test in Bendigo on June 27, the day before this year’s BestWool/BestLamb conference.
The showcase will include a range of suppliers, demonstrating their EID-compatible software and hardware equipment, as well as electronic tag manufacturers. Agriculture Victoria will also provide information sessions relevant to the introduction of EID in Victoria.
“The EID showcase will allow producers to inspect a range of equipment and software and seek advice from providers on how EID can be collected and used to inform management decisions on farm,” Agriculture Victoria Senior Sheep Specialist Garry Armstrong said.
“Agriculture Victoria staff will also be available to answer questions on the EID NLIS sheep and goat traceability system and requirements.”
The showcase will take place at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre, inside The Prince of Wales Showgrounds on Holmes Road in North Bendigo.
The event will open from 12 noon, with lunch provided, and continue until 4pm. Agriculture Victoria and suppliers will make a series of short presentations from 1pm.
The showcase follows on from Agriculture Victoria’s recent EID awareness and knowledge information sessions, to support sheep and goat producers to transition to the EID NLIS system and adopt electronic identification technology.
Hardware, software and tag suppliers represented at the showcase will include Practical Systems, Shearwell, Gallagher, Data Mars, Trutest, Allflex, Sapien, Auto Med, Clipex, TePari, Aglive and Leader Products.
Please register online at Eventbrite or telephone (03) 5761 1647.
