Stylish Pooley Bridge Fever heifer makes $12,000

dairy-sale-11A huge crowd overflowed the Shepparton Selling Centre for the Complete Dispersal Sale of all the Spring calving heifers from the Master Breeder Pooley Bridge herd of Leslie Farms of Arcadia.

Sale top of $12,000 was for the very stylish heifer Pooley Bridge Fever Velvene 52 from a VG 87 Shottle with over 16,000 litres, next dam an EX 91 Blitz with 14,415 litres, she was purchased by Cairnhill Holsteins of the Zanders Family, Kialla.

Next top of $8750 was for Pooley Bridge Oakshade Salina 9 a massive framed heifer from a VG 86 (1st lact) Aftershock who is from Ice Salina EX 93, 2E, she was purchased by J & H Harvey of Yarragon.

Strong buyers throughout the sale were Bruce & Matt Templeton of Tarwin who selected 10 heifers, these include Pooley Bridge Seaver Spottie 14 a daughter of Bolton Spottie 11 VG, 462 kgs fat bred down from Sunnylodge Prelude Spottie a former Canadian Cow of the year at $7500.

K, H & M Jones of Foster paid $7000 for Pooley Bridge Lauthority Felicia 75 a sister to the winning best udder Snr. 2 yo at IDW 2017 and $6500 for Pooley Bridge Reginald Sadie 76 from a 525 kg fat Shottle dam.

The top selling bull at $6800 was Pooley Bridge Kaygold, backed by many generations of high production IDW winners, he sold to Spunner Past. Co of Berrigan, NSW.

Jayke & Bec Fisher of Quality Ridge Holsteins selected the very correct Pooley Bridge Fever Crista 21 at $6500.
The well known Avonlea herd of John & Cherie Gardiner selected several top lots including Pooley Bridge Shottle Rose 99, Pooley Bridge Shottle Anne 87 and Pooley Bridge Seaver Kay 192 all at $6000 each.

Other noted sales included Pooley Bridge Sonic Victoria 2, a daughter of 1 of 5 EX full sisters from the famed Arethusa Victoria family, she was purchased by S & N Somerville of Somerelle Holsteins at $5500. Pooley Bridge Oakshade Mellisa 2 from a VG 87 (1st lact) dam at $5300 to A Harrison of Nerrena and Pooley Bridge Gillespie Elegance 20 backed by generations of IDW winners at $5000 to G & C Peatling of Katunga.
