Profitable integration of livestock and cropping

Sheep-on-cropsThe top 20% of mixed farming producers in southern Australia are retaining almost 30% of turnover as net profit, while the remaining 80% of producers are retaining less than 10%.

So what are the top performing producers doing differently to achieve this?

The profitable integration of cropping and livestock workshop will explore the answers to gain an understanding of the key profit drivers in your business.

This half-day workshop on February 21 will discuss the results from a national Meat & Livestock Australia project.

The workshop will report on 100 multi-year benchmarking datasets from southern Australia, to identify what drives profit in each agro-ecological zone and how cropping and livestock can be successfully integrated to achieve win-win outcomes.

Learning outcomes:

  • understand the performance of top 20% producers in your local region
  • build your knowledge and understanding around the profit drivers that really make a difference in your cropping and livestock enterprises
  • identify the management traits of a top 20% producer
  • implement diagnostic tools and processes to help assist your own performance.
