Staged every three years in Rockhampton, Queensland, 2018 will be the 11th year of the triennial expo.
The expo will facilitate new trade and export opportunities by exposing the local supply chain to the Australian and international industry leaders with more than 4,500 cattle from over 30 breeds on display. Showcasing to the world the best beef cattle Australia has to offer, along with the latest in innovation and technology, is the core of Beef Australia’s existence.
As such, the cattle competitions are at the heart of the Beef 2018 program, with events including live stud cattle judging, commercial cattle classes, junior judging and parades, led steers and carcase competitions.
Ruralco is the naming rights sponsor of the Commercial Cattle Competition with judging and sales to start on Sunday, May 6.
Ruralco will conduct a Helmsmann auction at their site during the week offering the last 4,000 available straws from the Tartrus Brahman Stud – a unique opportunity to capitalise on over half a century of genetic and breeding program excellence. This represents approximately 100 sires.
Proceeds will be donated to The Lady McCamley Memorial Foundation supporting Lifeline Australia.
Other highlights of Beef Australia include a trade fair promoting more than 500 businesses; a conference, seminars and property tours to deliver new research information to producers; and restaurants and cooking demonstrations for visitors to appreciate the quality and avour of Australian beef.
