Genetic Jackpot sale tops at $8250 for Atwood Noni

Dairy-sale--11Members of the West Gippsland Sub Branch of Holstein Australia recently staged the Genetic Jackpot Sale the evening prior to the Warragul All Australian Feature Show.

Sale top of $8250 was paid for the outstanding heifer only calved one day, Bluechip Atwood Noni 1 (ET), this daughter of IDW in milk winner Windbrook Noni, VG 88 was purchased by Smethurst & Robertson of Athlone and sold a/c Leigh Jennings.

Next top at $6000 was for lot 1, Eclipsepeirce Blowtorch Canto bred from the World famous Larcrest Canto family, she sold to Staley Farms of Yarram.

Third high seller at $5700 was the correct calf Avonlea Stanleycup Ribbon a/c J & C Gardiner she sold to Russell Farms of Warragul and was backed by 3 gens all over 500 kgs fat.

Other noted sales included Arrowlea Solomon Candy bred from the famed Strongbark Candy family, she sold a/c Sophie Louden to Carisma Holsteins of Leongatha at $5200. Shadyoak Awesome Chriss 4 –Red sold in calf to Unstoppabul-Red a/c Boardman & McFee at $5000 to Pegasus Holsteins.

D & E Louden sold the VG 88 cow Arrowstar Goldrose Candess at $4600 to C & T Bawden of Drouin South, this cow went on to win Reserve Champion Cow the next day at the Feature Show.
