SELX-cattle-April-6

Ed Gundry, Tarago, and Milly Glanville, Yass, (Willeroo P/L) sold 3 Angus x steers with Landmark for 275c/kg, av 615kg, $1691.25 ph.

Cows gained 5c to 10c/kg with a few extra buyers competing for numbers at SELX.

The medium weight 2 score cows sold from 155c to 196c/kg.

The heavy 3 and 4 scores made from 178c to 220c to average 208c/kg.

The best of the heavy bull reached 255c/kg. Numbers lifted and the quality was fair to good.

There were a large number of young cattle lacking cover with a few good runs of well finished trade cattle.

Grown steers were limited and cows nearly tripled to 610 head.

Due to the weaner sale, where 4000 have been drawn for, the light vealers to restock sold cheaper mostly due to quality and breed.

Steers to restockers sold to 280c and feeders paid to 292c/kg. Trade buyers paid to 262c/kg for light heifers. Medium weight feeder steers eased 4c and heavy weights up to 10c and sold from 242c to 293c/kg.

Heifers to feed sold to a dearer trend of up to 4c making from 240c to 270c/kg. Heavy trade steers and heifers were firm receiving from 258c to 292c/kg.

Grown steers were similar to a fortnight ago making 230c to 251c and heavy heifers eased 3c to make from 230c to 256c/kg.
