These cows and calves from Dorrigo Mountain,NSW, sold for $2100.

Joined females were in short supply, slipping to 603 head with PTIC and joined cows were mixed in quality to average $991 and sold to a top of $1960 on AuctionsPlus.

A line of rising 3 year old PTIC Angus cows from ‘Straban’, Walcha, NSW, returned the premium price.

While mixed age station mated Angus/Hereford cows from Keith, SA sold for $800.

PTIC heifers averaged $1576, an increase of $200 on last week. From ‘Noonga’, Spring Ridge, NSW, four lots of 24 PTIC Angus heifers were offered to return $1700.

Cow and calf units averaged $1153 and sold between $960 and $1300. From ‘Longarm’, Barraba, NSW, a line of 3 year old Shorthorn cows with 86kg Speckle Park & Shorthorn calves at foot sold for $1200.

Two-year-old Poll Hereford cows with 83kg calves by Angus bulls from Orange, NSW sold for $1300.

While a line of rising 4 year old Angus cows and calves from ‘Forest Lodge’, Killarney, QLD made solid money in the 3 in 1 unit market, returning $1960. With Angus calves at foot averaging 217kg, these cows are 3-4 months in calf to Angus bulls.

Ben Sharpe, Ray White Rural Tenterfield, NSW offered 6 lots in the Weaner & Yearling and Eastern States sales today, and recorded 100% clearance.

‘Olga Downs’, Richmond offered 144 HGP free Droughtmaster & Droughtmaster X weaned steers, aged 8-14 months which returned $830/ 306c.

From ‘Cressaire’, Goondiwindi, QLD EU eligible and PCAS accredited steer and heifer weaners were offered;  80 weaned Angus & Angus X steers, aged 8-14 months, 267kg, returned $810/303c/kg. Similarly, 48 Angus & Angus X heifers, aged 8-10 months, 242kg, returned $610/ 252c.

Turning to NSW, from ‘River View’, Tenterfield, 88 EU accredited weaned Angus steers, aged 7-10 months, 268kg  sold for $840/ 315c. The sisters weighed in at 262kg, returning $670/ 255c.

Weaned Charolais/Shorthorn heifers from ‘Marchmont Park’, Coolah aged 8-9 months and weighing 314 kg sold for $775/ 247c. A line of 110 weaned Angus steers from ‘Gunningrah’, Bombala, aged 7-9 months and weighing 287kg returned $800/279c.

A line of 70 weaned Angus steers from ‘Frederick Hill’, Benalla, VIC weighing 268kg sold for $800/299c. While Angus feeder steers from Casterton, VIC aged 17-18 months and weighing 413kg, sold for $1,100/ 266c.

In Western Australia, 9 to 11 month old Angus & Angus X steers weighing 352kg sold for $1,150/327c. A line of mixed sex Charolais and Charolais/Angus weaners, aged 8 to 9 months and weighing 317kg returned $960/303c.

While in Tasmania, PTIC females are in abundance, with over 300 head offered from the north of the state. The annual production sale of the Panshanger Estate Angus Herd saw 174 breeders offered.

Four year old Angus cows, 4 to 6 months in calf to Angus bulls, topped the market at $1750. While from Bothwell in southern Tasmania, Poll Hereford steers aged 16 to 20 months and weighing 336kg returned $840/ 250c.
