First-cross ewes top at $245 and average $200

These SIL Merino ewes from Corowa, NSW, sold for $200/head.

Merino ewes were in high supply this week, with 1-2-year-old ewes averaging $185 with the top line making $200.

This line of 600 SIL Merino ewes split over two lots from Corowa, NSW are heading across the border into Victoria.

Proven breeders having solid numbers listed this week. A standout line of Poll Merino 6-year-old ewes made $161. These ewes are SIL to White Suffolk sires and are located in Kulpara, SA.

First cross ewe numbers were low this week, but number that were offered mainly all hailed from Victoria. The top line of first cross ewes made $245 with an average of $200.

The top line was for a line of 2.5.3-year-old first cross ewes from Langdons Hill, VIC. Ewes are SIL to Poll Dorset sires and are staying in Victoria.

Merino wethers lambs averaged $77 this week with the top line making $108. This top line was July/August 2017 drop, located in Young, NSW with a good 70 mil jacket.
