Royalla Trigger grand champion bull at Beef 2018

Beef-2018---ShorthornRockhampton, QLD is a long way to travel by truck, yet six Shorthorn breeders made the distance to be able to exhibit at the 2018 Beef Australia Shorthorn judging.

Judge Darren Childs, Glenlands Droughtmaster Stud, Theodore, Queensland and Associate Judge Ben Wieland, Alfred Creek Shorthorns, made their selections from the 11 entries on show.

Grand Champion Male was awarded to Royalla Trigger M246, exhibited by Royalla Shorthorns, Yeoval NSW.

A roan son of Royalla Quantum J392 and from the Royalla Meldoy 8366L dam, Trigger M246 had earlier been awarded the Junior Champion Male Class.

Described by Judge, Darren Childs, as an extremely balanced bull with excellent carcass yet retaining natural softness, Royalla Trigger M246 went on to stand in the top 9 exhibits in the following interbreed judging.

Grand Champion Female was awarded to Southern Cross Trojon Phyllis K106, exhibited by Trojon Shorthorns, Lyndhurst NSW.

A red daughter of Ronelle Park Guns for Hire and from the and from the Major Phyllis H04 dam, with an excellent heifer calf at foot, Phyliss H04 had earlier been awarded the Senior Champion Female.
