Milking and dry stock average $1001 at dispersal

Dairy-sale--11A large crowd was in attendance for the Complete Dispersal of the Raleigh Dairies milking herd at the Kempsey Selling Centre earlier this month.

With over 60 registered bidders from across New South Wales and Victoria there was strong competition throughout the entire sale and in particular the fresh calved and springing cattle.

A total of 580 head were offered and the top price of $1450 was reached a number of times and strong bidding ensured a complete clearance, with an outstanding average of $1001 for the milking and dry stock.

A number of processors were in attendance, all going home empty handed as all cattle were purchased by restockers.

A selection of 39 dairy calves, various breeds, with a top of $205.00 for a pen of large xbred calves.

The calves averaged $157.44 across all pens of calves.
