The event kicks off on Tuesday June 12 with judging at 12pm, with Steve Peake, Bowen Poll Herefords and Peakes Angus, judging.

Steve said he was looking forward to the event, particularly as the breed celebrates its biggest achievement of the past few years, the Thousand Guineas brand, which has created a new premium market for producers.

“You’ve got to take your hat off to the Shorthorn breed,” Mr Peake said.

“They’ve been able to really improve the breed in the last decade.”

“We have several vendors have been in the sale for many years, but we’re also getting new studs in the sale every year,” Mr Job said.

“In previous years we’ve had commercial and stud support, and some studs have been set up using cattle from Dubbo as their foundation sires.
