Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report 26 Jerseys av $4,245

A huge crowd of Jersey fanciers were at the Kaarmona Jersey Stud of Graeme and Rohan Sprunt in Northern Victoria for the Diamond Jubilee Sale celebrating 60 years of the Goulburn Murray Jersey Breeders Club.

Sale top of $8,500 was paid by Murray Brook Farm, Crossley in Western Victoria for the 2 year old milking heifer, Warrain Irwin Empress.

This outstanding young cow was recently classified maximum score of 88 points and is backed by many generations of EX cows with over 9,000 litres, she sold a/c J & M Cockerell of Numurkah.

Next top of $8,400 was for the rising yearling Katandra Park Valentino Vanessa 8, backed by 5 generations of EX 92 dams she sold a/c D & L Fry of WA to the Syndicate of Kaarmona and Darryn Vale herds.

Sharing the equal third top price of $6,500 was the tremendous in calf heifer Broadlin Illusion 3341, a Tequila daughter of the 2015 IDW Grand Champion Broadlin Illusion 2817, EX 93, she sold a/c L & L Broad to R & J Easterbrook & Sons of Tatura.

Also at this price was Jugiong Petunia 6818, EX 91, a grand young cow by Vanahlem, she sold a/c Nicholson Farms to Launder Farms of Tarwin. The Sprunt Family sold the recently classified EX 92 cow, Kaarmona Vanahlem Babe 232 at $6,000 to R & K Anderson of Drouin West.

The Loxleigh herd of G & N Akers sold several top lots including Loxleigh Valentino Rowena 6654 (ET) a 3 month old calf by Valentino backed by 7 generations of EX dams at $6,500 to Nicholson Farms. Loxleigh Vanahlem Iris and David Iris 6655 both calves 2 – 4 months at $5,000 each, both selling to Launder Farms.

Also sold at sale under silent auction was a large amount of Semen that included Brigadier at $150 and Top Brass at $130 per straw.
