If you want to hear an enlightening and inspirational business journey don’t miss hearing Elisha Parker’s story about the Cattlesales.com.au crusade at next week’s BetterBeef conference in Bendigo.

Cattlesales.com.au – launched in May 2016 – is described as Australia’s only online platform solely for advertising cattle.

The website provides a central point for buyers to source cattle available for sale and a platform for livestock agents together with producers to advertise cattle for sale via any sale point including paddock sales, sale yards, online sales/Auctions Plus, bull and special sales.

The Cattlesales.com.au mission is to revolutionise the way the Australian cattle industry connects.

Ms Parker is part of an extensive family owned backgrounding and fattening operation, while her co-founder Annabelle Woods has extensive feedlot experience and is involved in managing a large family commercial beef operation.

Agriculture Victoria’s Darren Hickey said Elisha, who is a former Future Farmers Network Board member, will talk about the development of an innovative idea, the tribulations of running a business from remote locations, understanding the customer inside out, the experience of offering something new to a traditional industry and managing a two-sided marketplace.

“Elisha will provide her views on the benefits of the online space to the Australian cattle industry and what the advertising and selling of cattle might look like for the Australian cattle industry in the next 10 years.

“Elisha and Annabelle have taken inspiration from the advice since the concept of Cattlesales.com.au first started to develop – “Don’t start a business, start a crusade. Revolutions never die. So, start a revolution, not a business.” (James Watt, Business for Punks).”
