Extra heavy lambs reach 720-780c/kg dressed

Michael Bollen, Gurrundah topped today’s market with Duncombe & Co selling 10 XB Lambs sold to a top of $221ph.

Extra heavy lambs reached $221/head with carcase prices averaging from 720c to 780c/kg cwt at SELX this week.

Lamb numbers fell and the quality was mixed. There were still plenty of light and unfinished lambs. Prime trade and heavy lambs were in short supply. The market was dearer.

The 2 score processing lambs were $8 dearer and sold from $77 to $126/head.

Medium and heavy trade weights were $10 to $11 dearer and sold from $136 to $185/head. Heavy lambs gained $15 to $20 with an extra buyer operating and sold from $180 to $208/head.
Extra heavy lambs reached $221/head. Carcase prices averaged from 720c to 780c/kg cwt. Merino lambs reached $162 and a single of hoggets made $221/head.

Mutton numbers lifted and the quality was a little plainer. Prices were $5 to $10/head dearer. Medium weight Merino ewes sold from $92 to $173/head for full wool ewes.

Heavy crossbreds sold from $150 to $204/head. Most averaged from 530c to 550c/kg cwt.
