Practical tools for sheep management

Sheep-field-dayNSW sheep producers have the opportunity to school up on the latest sheep management technologies at a field day to be held in Armidale next Thursday, November 8.

The ‘Practical Tools for Sheep Management’ field day is being coordinated by the Cooperative Research Centre for Sheep Industry Innovation (Sheep CRC), and will feature presentations on its ASKBILL and RamSelect online tools.

Sheep CRC training coordinator Lu Hogan said the field day was a great opportunity to take sheep businesses to the next level by combining the latest digital technologies with practical farm management strategies.

The event will also feature presentations from Ray White Rural on its StockD app, as well as Gallagher on its fencing, auto-weighing and drafting hardware.

The field day will be held at the University of New England’s SMART Farms in the Kirby Shearing Shed from 12-3pm. A light lunch will be provided at no charge, but places are limited and bookings are essential.
