Scanned in lamb Merino ewes sold from $131 to $202.5, averaging $161 on AuctionsPlus last week.

A line of 198 SIL Merino ewes, offered as part of the ‘Angip Nominees’ flock dispersal achieved the top price.

These ewes are Charinga blood, weighing 53kgs freshly shorn, aged 23-24 months. They are joined to Border Leicester rams and will travel locally to Apsley, VIC.

While from Trangie, NSW a line of 180 SIL Merino ewes sold for $135. These ewes are 16-17 months, weigh 42kgs, with a 1 1/4 ” skin and are joined to White Suffolk rams.

Selling from $79 to $130, non-station mated Merino ewes averaged $101. From Tarcutta, NSW a line of 285 Merino ewes achieved top price, weighing 46kgs, these ewes are Pastora blood, rising 3 years and will remain in NSW.

From Albert, NSW a line of 200 Merino ewes returned $10, these ewes are rising 5 years and weigh 58kgs.

NSM Merino ewe hoggets sold from $80 to $116 to average $106. The top price was returned by a line of 250 SRS Merino hoggets from Dubbo, NSW. These ewes are 16-20 months, weigh 44kgs, have a ½” skin and will travel north to Guyra, NSW. From Burren Junction, NSW a line of 365 Merino hoggets returned $107. These ewes are 18-19 months, weighing 44kgs and have a 1” skin.

The average price of Merino ewe lambs increased by $20 to $113, with lambs selling from $70 to $157.

From Mundoora, SA, 234 future breeder Poll Merino ewe lambs returned the top price. These lambs are July 18’ drop, weigh 43kgs, have a 1” skin and will travel locally to Kadina, SA. From Deniliquin, NSW a line of 205 future breeder Poll Merino ewe lambs returned $90.5.

These lambs are Jun/Jul 18’ drop, weigh 28kgs, have a 1.5” skin and will travel across the border to St Arnaud, VIC.

Merino wether prices also increased by $37 to average $97 with prices ranging from $66 to $125. The top price was achieved by a line of 430 Merino wethers from Yass, NSW.

These wethers are 3.5 years, weighing 53kgs, Tallawong blood and have a 3 ½” skin. Offered as part of the ‘Angip Nominees’ dispersal, 300 Merino woolgrower wethers sold for $78. These wethers are 23-24 months, 48kgs and Charinga blood.

Merino wether lambs sold from $41 to $110.50, averaging $74. From Yass, NSW a line of 295 Merino woolgrower wether lambs achieved the top price.

These lambs are Jul/Aug 18’ drop, weighing 35kgs, Bogo blood and have a 2” skin. From Albert, NSW 200 Merino store wether lambs returned $73. These lambs are Sep/Oct 18’ drop, weigh 27kgs, are Wanganella blood and have a 1.5” skin.

Scanned in lamb first cross ewes averaged $228, selling from $125 to $271. The top price was returned by a line of 168 SIL Border Leicester/Merino ewes from Buangor, VIC. These ewes are 2.5-3.5 years, weigh 68kgs, are joined to Mertex White Suffolk Texel rams and will travel across the border to Millicent, SA.

From Cowra, NSW a line of 213 SIL ewes returned $200. The ewes are 3 years, weigh 70kgs and are joined to White Suffolk rams.

First cross ewe lambs sold from $120 to $160, averaging $137. From Dubbo, NSW a line of 170 Border Leicester/Merino NSM ewes achieved top price.

Aged 11-12 months, weighing 50kgs these lambs will travel west to Narromine, NSW. From Tottenham, NSW 540 ewe lambs returned $133. These lambs are August 18’ drop, weigh 32kgs and will travel to Wycheproof, VIC.

Crossbred lambs sold from 251c to 355c, averaging 322c. The top price was achieved by a line of 320 mixed sex Poll Dorset/Composite store lambs from Coolac, NSW. These lambs are Aug/Sep 18’ drop, weigh 35kgs and will travel west to Moss Vale, NSW.

This week also saw the Jamestown, SA sale yards interface the Jamestown Store Sheep Market sale which offered 3,019 head.

The top price was achieved by a line of 126 Poll Merino station mated ewes from Caltowie, SA. The ewes are rising 2 years, weigh 74kgs, with a ½” skin.

Wether lambs sold from $76 to $122, averaging $102. Top price was achieved by a line of 293 store wether Poll Merino lambs. These lambs are Jul/Aug 18’ drop, weigh 38.5kgs and have a ¾” skin.
