The preliminary catalogue is available online for review.  A full and final catalogue will be available during the conference.

The Sale will be conducted live and online, interfacing with AuctionsPlus’ online facility from 3.00pm Adelaide time.

If you wish to purchase Elite Wagyu genetics, you must pre-register with GDL to receive trading approval, at least 48 hours prior to the Sale. Other absentee bidders can make telephone bids via GDL, if they prefer.

According to auctioneer, Harvey Weyman Jones, the excitement will be at a high point when the catalogue arrives in a few weeks’ time.

“This is the biggest volume and best quality catalogue that has ever been put together in the history of the Wagyu breed,” he said.

“The last three years have gone from 40 lots to 80 and now 100 lots. The level of quality has gone from the top 10% to top 5%, with many in the top 1%.

“There are three lots with SRI’s over +250. One live heifer and one bull ranked equal ninth SRI +256, and semen from a relatively unknown bull with an SRI of +250.

The catalogue offers buyers progeny of the most popular super sires such as Mayura’s Itoshigenami Jnr, Coates Itoshigenami G113, Sumo Michifuku F154, Sumo Michifuku F126, Macquarie Y408, Macquarie Prelude M0495 and Poll Wagyu Midnight M0775.

“This is the first time that we have offered polled females. We have two heterozygous heifers from two different vendors. Both carry Bar R 52Y genetics. There are five polled bulls including a homozygous polled son of Midnight and a heterozygous, full brother of Midnight, with a marble score of +1.8. A second homozygous bull out of a 52Y cow also has some semen for sale later, as does Midnight.
