Scanned in lamb Merino ewes sold from $112.50 to $265, averaging $183 with a 78% clearance on AuctionsPlus.

‘Lester & Palmer’ from Tempy, VIC offered a line of 363 Merino ewes which returned the top price.

Weighing 58kgs, these ewes are rising 3 years old, have a 1 ½” skin, SIL to White Suffolk rams and will travel to Quambatook, VIC. From Yeoval, NSW a line of 250 Merino ewes sold for $163.

These ewes are Glenwood blood, 3-4 years with a 1 ½” skin, weigh 51kgs and will travel 1,125km to Mount Compass, SA.

Station-mated Merino ewes sold from $90 to $246, with a line of 280 ewes from Hay, NSW topping the category.

These 2 year old ewes are Curragh blood and weigh 61kgs with a 2 ½” skin. While non-station mated Merino ewes averaged $139.50, up $12 on last week and selling from $98 to $164.

From Gilgandra, NSW a line of 247 Merino Wyuna blood ewes aged 2 years, achieved the top price.

Merino ewe lambs averaged $166, steady on last week and selling from $115 to $230. ‘Erskine Pty Ltd’, Peterborough, SA offered a line of 225 Poll Merino lambs which returned the top price. Weighing 50kgs, these lambs are Apr/May ’18 drop, Orrie Cowrie blood with a 2 ½” skin. From Jarklin, VIC a line of 430 ewe lambs sold for $178.

These lambs are May/Jun ’18 drop, Mutooroo blood, and weigh 38kgs with a 1” skin.

Merino wethers sold from $66 to $126, averaging $107. This is a drop of $15 on last week, however 95% of the stock category was sold at auction. ‘Green Park Pastoral Co’ Lake Bolac, VIC offered a line of 450 wethers which achieved the top price.

These wethers are rising 2 years, Bundilla blood, weigh 47kgs and have a 1 ½” skin. While from Yass, NSW a line of 330 wethers sold for $110. Weighing 42kgs, these wethers are rising 3 years, Tallawong blood with a ¼” skin and found a local buyer.

Merino wether lambs averaged $105, selling from $69 to $153. ‘Timmins & Lucas’ Cooma, NSW offered a line of 258 wether lambs which sold for the top price.

These lambs are Sept/Oct ’18 drop, Greendale blood, and weigh 39kgs with a 2 ½” skin. From Quilpie, QLD a line of 520 wether lambs returned $100. Weighing 35kgs, these lambs are Sept/Oct ’18 drop, AMS blood with a 1” skin.

SIL First cross ewes averaged $234, up $11 on last week, selling from $182 to $268. A line of 175 ewes from Tallimba, NSW returned the top price.

These ewes are 12-13 months, weigh 59kgs and are SIL to Poll Dorset rams. From Cressy, VIC a line of 388 ewes sold for $246. Weighing 45kgs, these ewes are 9-10 months and SIL to Border Leicester rams.

First cross ewe lambs were in demand, with their average price increasing by $21 and 100% clearance being achieved.

Ewes sold from $136.50 to $251, to average $192. The top price was returned by a line of 240 ewe lambs from Peak Hill, NSW. Weighing 65kgs, these ewe lambs are Mar/Apr ’18 drop and found a buyer from Barellan, NSW.

Other highlights saw a line of 610 SIL Australian White/Dorper cross ewes from Longreach, QLD return $201.

These ewes are 2-3 years, weigh 60kgs, are SIL to Australian White rams and will travel over the border to Broken Hill, NSW. From Coleraine, VIC, a line of 90 SIL Composite ewes sold for $264.

These ewes are 23 months and weigh 68kgs. While a line of 73 SIL White Suffolk/Merino ewes from Great Western, VIC returned $220. Weighing 64kgs, these ewes are 3-6 years and SIL to Poll Dorset & White Suffolk rams.

Crossbred lambs sold from 343c to 559c, to average 419c, up 17c. ‘Gundary Pastoral Co’ Junee, NSW offered a line of 335 Second cross Poll Dorset mixed sex lambs which returned the top price. Weighing 27kgs, these lambs are Jul/Aug ’18 drop and found a buyer at Lockhart, NSW.

While a line of 160 White Suffolk/Dohne cross lambs, from Tocumwal NSW returned 429c. These lambs are Oct ‘18/Jan ’19 drop, weigh 24kgs and found a buyer across the border at Shelbourne, VIC.

Looking to Tasmania, this week saw a 100% clearance returned across the 3 lots of mixed sex lambs offered. A top price of $187 was returned by a line of 300 White Suffolk/Merino mixed sex lambs offered by ‘Earlham Estate’ Rheban.

These lambs are Sept/Oct ’18 drop, weigh 49kgs and were secured by a buyer from Victoria. While from Glengarry, a line of 120 Suffolk/Merino lambs, Sept/Oct ’18 drop and weighing 31kgs sold for $108.

From Fingal, 292 Border Leicester/Merino mixed sex lambs returned $135. Weighing 39kgs, these lambs are Aug/Oct ’18 drop.
