Illawarra show champion makes top of $8000

IllawarraA large crowd of buyers from all over Victoria along with others from Tasmania, NSW and Qld were active at the combined Illawarra Dispersal Sale of Rubyvale, Rick and Kristie Bailey of Carpendeit and the Hazelmont herd of the Breen Family of Beeac.

Sale top of $8,000 was paid by Roger and Amanda Heath of Boorcan for the outstanding young Show Champion Cow Rubyvale Pingerly Buttercup 2 (ET), one of 5 daughters of the wonderful Brood cow Lemon Grove Buttercup 332, VG 87 that sold on the day.

Other daughters of this mighty cow included Rubyvale Pingerly Buttercup 3 a most promising in calf heifer due in the Spring selling at $5,000 to Paul Rae of Nullawarre.

The recently named Real Australian dry heifer, Rubyvale PB Duchess sold at $5,000 to T & T Fleming of Camperdown, this heifer had won at several shows including IDW.

The winning 4 year old from IDW, Eagle Park Anticipation Pamela 4221 also sold at $5,000 to N Shierlaw of Jamberoo, NSW.

Strong buyers of the top lots included the Heath family, in addition to the top selling lot their selections also included Rubyvale Primula a tremendous young cow on 2nd lactation at $3,600 along with the equal top lot from Hazelmont in Ovensdale Pixie 133 at $3,400 and Hazelmont Maxima Doris at $3,100

Other noted sales from Hazelmont included Ovensdale Jenny 93 at $3,400 to local breeder Dom Dare who purchased several lots including Hazelmont Maxima Nardoo at $3,000.

Queensland breeder Damon Phillips of Toowoomba selected the top young cow Hazelmont WBlush Scarlet backed by the noted Ovensdale Scarlet family at $3,200.
