The Dispersal Sale of all Autumn calved cows and heifers of Ray, Rhonda and Ash Hobson of Murrabit met with extremely strong competition from buyers hailing from Western Victoria, Gippsland, Northern Victoria and the Southern Riverina of NSW.
The vendors have been using AI for the past 39 years and presented a tremendous quality line up and an especially attractive high producing group of 2 year old heifers.
These heifers sold to a top of $2,900 twice for daughters of Mormann Galop and No-Fla Patron, they were both purchased by P Van Den Goor of Katunga, the same buyer selected several other top lots including another by Patron, a 2 year old Dante and a 3 year old Dazzling at $2,700 each.
Sharing the equal 2nd highest price of $2,800 were three 2 year old heifers sired by Alta 1st Class and Galop, they all went to Ray Smith of Mathoura, NSW.
The outstanding line of 55 2 year old milking heifers sold for an average of $2,365.
Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report the following details – 140 Autumn calved cows av $1,992 6 carry over cows av $1,443 and 146 Holsteins av $1,970.
