A large crowd of dairymen from all parts of Gippsland filled the seats at the Warragul Selling Centre for the complete dispersal sale of the Arrowstar Holstein herd and heifers for the Louden Family of Modella.
Sale top of $5,000 was paid for Harrietville Barbolat Paris, VG 87, this 5 year old had won the West Gippsland on-farm 3 year old class in 2017, she completes 10 gens EX & VG bred from the famed Paradise family and was close to calving to King Doc, she sold to Carisma Farms, Leongatha.
Next top of $4,800 was paid for Arrowstar Jedi Blackrose, an outstanding young cow selling to Troy Smethurst of Athlone, this buyer also selected Arrowstar Acme Victorian, VG at $3,100.
At equal third high of $4,750 was Arrowlea Rival Prada selling to S Wilkie of Bacchus Marsh and Arrowstar Barbolat Dreamin, a three year old backed by 9 gens VG, she sold to R & R Peacock of Modella.
Fourth high of $4,000 was Donnybrook Fever Kitty 12, VG 87 backed by 5 gens EX, she was purchased by Munden Farms of Nilma.
Other noted sales included Arrowlea BB Paradise at $3,600 to B Harris of Pound Creek. Arrowstar Golddust Posey at $3,200 to T & R Haw of Bena, these buyers also selected Arrowstar Barbolat Cretonne at $3,100.
C & T Bawden of Labertouche paid $3,200 for Arrowstar Brokaw Hanna bred from 6 gens VG and $3,000 for Arrowstar Reginald Gardenia, VG 87, a winner of OFC in 2018.
P Price of Leongatha selected Arrowlea Goldwyn Victoria, 8 gens EX & VG and to 443 kgs fat at $3,000.
