The Bendigo Premier Exclusive Breeders First Cross Sale was interfaced for the first time with pleasing results.

In total 87 registered bidders logged into the sale, with bids placed from users in Victoria. The catalogue was viewed over 3200 times, reflecting interest in the sale and quality of the stock on offer.
A total of 12,000 head were offered, and 100% clearance was achieved. The Telang Crossbred Lamb Sale experienced equally successful results. 7,700 head were offered, and 100% clearance was recorded.
Merino ewe lambs averaged $136, up $7, selling from $61 to $186.50. The top price was returned by a line of 520 Poll Merino future breeder ewe lambs from Tumbarumba, NSW.
These ewes are 38kgs, Sep – Oct 19’ drop and will travel to Cootamundra, NSW. Merino ewe hoggets dropped by $9 to average $200. Selling from $125 to $283, the top price was achieved by two lines of 215 Merino ewe hoggets from Hay, NSW offered as a run out of the gate. These ewes are 57kgs, 17 – 18 months of age, Woodpark Poll blood, have a 1¾” skin and both lines will travel to Ararat, VIC.
Young Merino breeders (2-4 years) sold from $106 to $203 and averaged $160, a drop of $31. From Port Kenny, SA a line of 230 Old Ashrose blood ewes weighing 60kgs, 1.5 – 2.5 years old with a ½” skin returned the top price.
Proven breeders (4+ years) sold from $131 to $181, averaging $164, an increase of $4. The top price was achieved by a line of 222 NSM ewes from Stockinbingal, NSW. These Egelabra blood ewes are 69kgs, 4 – 5 years of age and will travel to Young, NSW.
Merino wether lambs remained firm this week averaging $114, to sell from $57.50 to $150. The top price was returned by a line 423 Merino wether suckers from Rich Avon, VIC.
These lambs are 42kgs, May – Jun 19’ drop, have a 2¼” inch skin and will travel to Donald, VIC.  Merino wethers sold from $80 to $161 averaging $120, an increase of $6 from last week. From Bourke, NSW 650 wether hoggets and lambs returned the top price. These Poll Merino wethers are 58kgs, 15 – 16 months of age and have a 3” skin.
First cross ewe lambs sold from $130 to $310 and averaged $209. The top price was returned by a line of 122 Border Leicester/Poll Merino ewe lambs from Minlaton, SA.
These lambs are 7 – 8 months of age, 61kgs, have a 1” skin and will travel to Yankalilla, SA. First cross ewes sold from $200 to $303 and averaged $264. The top price was returned by a line of 343 scanned empty ewes from Deniliquin, NSW. These ewes are 2.5 years of age, 79kgs, 1¾” skin and will travel to Kerang, VIC.
Store lamb supply totalled 28,738 head which is a decrease of 15,192 head from last week, with clearance increasing to 87%. Prices declined by 10c to average 385c, selling from 321c to 476c. Highlights include;

• 37kg, 2nd cross Border Leicester/Merino mixed sex lambs from BINDA, NSW sold for $146.5 or 464c live
• 27kg, 2nd cross Poll Dorset/Border Leicester mixed sex lambs from MOLONG, NSW sold for $124 or 456C live
• 32kg, 2nd cross White Suffolk mixed sex lambs from MURRAY BRIDGE, SA sold for $138 or 438C live
• 30kg, 2nd cross White Suffolk/Border Leicester mixed sex lambs from KEITH, SA sold for $125 or 415c live
• 42KG, 1st cross White Suffolk/Merino mixed sex lambs from CONCONGELLA, VIC sold for $148.5 or 354c live
