Unjoined First Cross ewes averaged $232, up $8 on last week on AuctionsPlus and selling from $180 to $330.Highlights included unjoined 2-3 year old ewes (pictured) from Mount Schank, SA sold topped the sale for $330.
13 to 15 month old future breeder ewe hoggets from Wirrinya, NSW sold to a Victorian buyer for $285; while joined 71kg ewe hoggets from Mildura, VIC sold for $250.
The limited offering of Merino ewe lambs saw April/May 19’ drop 31kg future breeder ewe lambs form Forbes, NSW sell for $160.
Merino ewe hoggets sold from $85 to $262, to average $208, up $8 on last week. The top price went to a line of 16 to 17 month old unjoined breeders from Nildottie, SA and will head to Mount Pleasant, SA.
While from Tullamore, NSW, 16 month old 45kg hoggets sold to a buyer in South Australia for $220. Young 2 to 4 year old Merino breeders made from $97 to $264 and averaged $193, up $14 on last week. While proven 4 year old and older Merino breeders averaged $172, up $12 on last week, selling from $60 to $237.
Merino ewe highlights included, 2 year old unjoined ewes from Kingston SE, SA selling for $252 to a buyer in Coonamble, NSW; 4 year old unjoined Merino ewes from Blackall, QLD selling for $235 into the Central West of NSW.
The annual offering of the Nareen Station Production sale saw just over 5,000 unjoined Merino ewes offered online, assessed by Tom Madden of TB White and Sons. Seeing a 100% clearance for the offering, the 2 year old ewes sold from $235 to $260, with an average of $247.
While the 5 year old ewes sold from $192 to $203, to average $197. Buyers across the platform flocked for the offering, resulting in lots staying local, from Mortlake, VIC, up to Horsham, and across to Pirie’s, VIC.
20,000 new season Merino wether lambs were offered online this week, returning a 70% clearance. Lambs sold from $56 to $145, to average $100. April/May 19’ drop 44kg Poll Merino lambs from Manoora, SA topped the sale.
While June/July 19’ drop 43kg lambs from Moulamein, NSW sold for $141 to a buyer in Dubbo, NSW. April/June 19’ drop 36kg lambs from Ilfracombe, QLD sold to a buyer at Longreach, QLD for $108. Grown Merino wethers sold from $104 to $147, to average $116, up $2 on last week.
First Cross ewes & ewe lamb numbers totalled 8,100 this week. Ewe lambs sold from $169 to $225 to average $208, up $5 on last week. Unjoined First Cross ewe hoggets sold from $237 to $285, to average $268, up $23 on last week.
Other highlights this week included the Annual North East Victorian Lamb, Backgrounder and Finisher Sale, which saw 12,507 head offered and a 91% clearance achieved. Mixed sex suckers and lambs sold from $107 to $150 and averaged $134.
The top priced line was a mob of 44kg Aug/Sept 19’ drop 2ndX mixed sex Poll Dorset lambs from Glenrowan, VIC which were secured by a buyer at Coleambally, NSW. Wether lambs were topped by a line of 44kg July/Sept 19’ drop Composite lambs from Alexandra, VIC, also selling into NSW for $140.
This week also saw the Annual Cashmore Oaklea Ewe Sale, which returned a 100% clearance across the 5,075 ewes and ewe lambs offered from South East South Australia and South West Victoria.
The top priced line was a mob of 55kg 18 to 19 month old unjoined ewes from Kalangadoo, SA, selling to a buyer from Millicent, SA for $330. While June/July 19’ drop ewe lambs also from Kalangadoo, SA sold for $206.
43,809 new season store lambs were offered online on AuctionsPlus this week, a drop of just under 7,000 head, and seeing a 74% clearance across the platform. Highlights included:
