PTIC heifers sell to $2350 as markets rise

Heifers-Glen-InnesOver 1,300 PTIC heifers were offered last week, seeing a 76% clearance and prices ranged from $1,310 to $2,350, averaging $1,923, up $188 on AuctionsPlus.

The top price went to a line of Dulverton and Eaglehawk blood Angus heifers from A/C Wollen Partnership, Glen Innes, NSW (pictured). These heifers are 20 to 24 months, weigh 424kgs and are PTIC to Angus bulls.

Other highlights include a line Angus cross heifers, aged 18 to 20 months, 402kgs and are PTIC to Angus bulls from Walcha, NSW which sold for $2,140. From Camperdown, VIC a line of Keringa blood Angus heifers, aged 20 to 22 months, 538kgs and PTIC to Angus bulls sold for $2,000.

Over 1,500 PTIC Cows were offered this week, seeing a 68% clearance. Prices ranged from $1,410 to $2,310, averaging $1,906, jumping up $353 on last week. The top price was shared over two lines offered by A/C Big Top Trust, Hernani, NSW.

The first line being a line of 3.5 year old Angus cows, bred from Rennylea bloodlines, weighing 452kgs and are PTIC to Angus bulls. The second line of 5.5 year old Angus cows, weighing 556kgs and PTIC to Angus bulls.

From the same vendor, a line of Yamburgan blood Shorthorn cows, aged 5.5 years, weighing 523kgs, PTIC to Angus bulls sold for $2,070. Other highlights included a line of Santa cross and crossbred cows, aged 3 to 9 years, weighing 503kgs and PITC to Santa Gertrudis bulls from Injune, QLD which sold for $1,540.

Over 1,000 cow and calf units were offered this week, seeing a 80% clearance. Prices ranged from $1,390 to $3,475, averaging $2384, jumping up $283 on last week.

The top price went to A/C Calview Pastoral P/L, Laceby, VIC offering a line of Te Mania and Lawson blood cows, aged 3.5 years, weighing 542kgs and are PTIC to Angus bulls.

The Angus calves at foot are 5 to 7 months and weigh 218kgs. Other highlights include a line from Nagambie, VIC of Rennylea and Te Mania blood cows, aged 4.5 to 5 years, weighing 519kgs and are PTIC to Charolais bulls.

The Angus calves at foot are 5 to 6 months and weigh 193kgs, selling for $3,050. From Gloucester, NSW a line of 3.5 to 4 year old Charolais/ Angus cows, weighing 532kg and are joined to Black Limousin bulls.

The Black Limousin calves at foot are 4 to 5 months old and weigh 156kgs, selling for $3,000. From Roma, QLD a line of Droughtmaster cows, aged 3 to 9 years, weighing 454kgs and have been joined to Droughtmaster bulls. The calves at foot are 2 to 4 months and weigh 141kgs, selling for $2,540.
