Coomboona Polar Zabrina top heifer at $7500

Wellcamp-holsteinsA huge crowd overflowed the Colac selling ring for the Wellcoora Special Holstein heifer dispersal sale.

The heifers were purchased as calves from the dispersed Coomboona herd and boasted tremendous maternal lines, they had been grown out a treat by vendors Nick & Biddy Weel and were due to commence calving March 20.

Sale top of $7,500 was paid by Hallyburton Farms of Jancourt East for Coomboona Polar Zabrina bred down from the famous Ocean View Mandel Zandra, EX 95.

These buyers also selected Polar Diamonds at $5250, Polar Zoelen bred down from Fletchdale Stormatic Zita, EX 97 at $4250, Maverick Liza bred down from Comestar Model Liza Outside at $4250 and Maverick Lilet bred back from Comestar Goldwyn Lilac, 43 SBC at $4000.

Second top of the sale at $7000 was Coomboona Polar Alyssa from a dam with a BPI +348, next dam the well known Canadian cow Velthuis Supersonic Alyssa, this class heifer was purchased by K & H Jones of Foster.

These buyers also selected Coomboona Manner Fisin bred from the famed Quality Frantisco family at $4100 along with Polar Limbet, her 3rd dam is Comestar Goldwyn Layla, EX 96 at $4000. Also at $4000 the Jones family selected Lenux Faith and Lenux Cherry both from deep pedigrees.

Other noted sales included Coomboona Polar Chantel from the Larcrest Crimson family at $4250 to M, J & C Staley of Yarram who also purchased Polar Rosie from the noted Blackrose line at $4000.

Brendon Winter of Warragul paid $4250 Bandares Kyana from a Supershot dam with a PI 127 and BPI +285.
B & J Dickson of Terang purchased Logan Sheen from a +300 BPI dam back to Pine Tree Martha Sheen at $4000.

Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services and Charles Stewart & Co report buyers were from throughout Western Victoria along with many going to Gippsland and Northern Victoria.

175 Heifers gross $500,050 to av $2860 for a total clearance.
