The top priced line was offered by A/c ‘Cavanagh Farms’,Tintinara, SA. The ewes weigh 49kgs, have a 1.8” skin on their backs and will be journeying to Rainbow, VIC. Hailing from Mount Bryan East, SA, A/c ‘JL Quinn & Son’ offered a stand out line of future breeder ewe lambs weighing 52kgs which returned $226 and will travel to Birchip, VIC.
Young Merino breeders (aged 2-4 years) sold between $146 and $295 to average $200, back $79 from the previous week.
The top line offered by A/c ‘AJ Pekin’ consisting of 187 ewes & 215 lambs hailed from Clear Lake, VIC. The ewes averaged 52kgs, have 2.5-3” skins on their backs and are journeying to Inglewood, Northern VIC.
Proven Merino breeders (aged 4+ years) sold $13 easier this week to average $221 with prices ranging between $123 and $305.
The top line hailed from Cowra, NSW with NSM ewes and lambs of Dongiemon & Performance bloodlines weighing 64kgs.
Congratulations to A/c ‘Jinjilla Farms’ from Cowra, NSW for offering the top line composed of 100 NSM ewes and 117 lambs at foot. The ewes are of Dongiemon & Performance bloodlines, weigh 64kgs and are heading to Mudgee in Central West, NSW.
Merino wether lambs held firm from last week, up $2 to average $115 with prices selling from $86 to $125.50.
The top line went to A/c ‘Sleigh Pastoral Co’ from Jerilderie, NSW with an offering of 485 wether lambs weighing 41kgs with 1-1.5” skins.
The Wilandra blood Bowen bred lambs are April/May ’20 drop and will travel to Albury in the NSW Riverina.
The vendors offered another line of wethers weighing 34kgs which returned $114.50 and which will also head to Albury.
Merino wethers saw a price reduction of $24 this week with prices ranging between $107.50 and $130 to average $113.
Hailing from Crookwell, NSW the top line of 4-5-year-old wethers was offered by A/c ‘Phils River Grazing’.
The offering consisted of 450 trade wethers of Grassy Creek blood which weigh 58kgs and will journey to Goulburn, NSW.
From Stanthorpe, QLD another highlight included wethers offered by A/c ‘CN & CJ Bauman‘ which weigh 46kgs, returned $110 and will journey interstate to Inverell, NSW.
First cross ewe lambs sold from $220 to $336 to average $270, up $18 from last week.
From Rugby, NSW vendors ‘Rodger & Elizabeth Kelly’ offered two lines of Border Leicester/Poll Merino ewes weighing 52kgs and 51kgs which sold for $336 and $334, respectively. The ewes have 1.5-2.5” skins and will both travel to Young, NSW.
Ewes with lambs at foot sold from $234 to $450 this week, down $2 to hold firm at $305.
The top line consisted of 47 Poll Dorset ewes with 67 lambs at foot offered by A/c ‘CJ & BS Appledore’ from Brim, Victoria. The ewes aged 2-7 years of Gloroy and Glenore sires weigh 88kgs and will journey interstate to Kingston in SA.
The store lamb category saw a reduced offering this week, back 3,747 head to total 6,272 with clearance rates holding firm at 63%.
Prices for the stock category ranged between 293c and 540c, averaging 3c easier than last week at 405c. Highlights include:
