Shannon family pay top of $5000 at Andrews dispersal

Andrews-dispersalDairy Farmers from all parts of Victoria and NSW were keen to secure cows at the Dispersal Sale of Nick and Jane Andrews who have sold their property at Invergordon.

The herd consisted of an even mix of Jersey, Cross Bred, Red and Holsteins cows and were presented in tremendous form and milking very well with a low cell count.

Sale top of $5,000 was paid for a Blue Roan cow milking 47 litres and 3.34 kgs milk solids with a cc of 13, this wonderful uddered cow sold to J & M Shannon Past Co of Katunga, the same buyer also selected a classy 2 year old milking heifer by Planet at $3,100.

Equal second high of the sale was $4,300 for a pair of Brown Swiss cows by Jaguar and Hegal, these were both purchased by Sunrise Farms of Elingamite in Western Victoria.

Other noted sales included $3,200 for a 3 year old Jersey by Lemonhead. $3,100 for a Jersey by Aberian, the same price for a Jersey by TBone and $3,100 for a very good 3 year old Jersey.

A 6 year old Holstein by Shout sold at $3,100 and $3,000 was paid for a Red & White cow with a lovely udder.

Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report buyers were from all parts of the Goulburn Valley, the Kiewa Valley, Corryong, East Gippsland, Western Victoria and Northern NSW.
