Merino wether lambs averaged $4 dearer at $123 with prices ranging between $90 and $146 on AuctionsPlus.

The top price was achieved by vendors NM and IJ Ridley from Burcher, NSW. The offering consisted of Aug/Sep ’19 drop woolgrower wether lambs sired by Egelabra Rams which weigh 50kgs.

Merino wethers sold between $116 and $153 to average $125, up $9 from last week. Hailing from Branxholme, VIC, A/c ‘Waverly West’ offered the top line of wethers which weigh 54kgs, are sired by Wurrook rams and will journey interstate to Goulburn, NSW.

Merino ewe lambs saw prices ease this week, dropping $15 to average $192 with prices ranging between $148.50 and $238.50.

The top line consisted of Jul/Aug ’19 drop ewe lambs offered by A/c ‘Balcomb Agriculture’ from Cudal, NSW. The lambs weigh 53kgs and are of Mumblebone Bloodlines.

Merino ewe hoggets sold dearer this week, averaging $45 more at $266 with prices selling broadly between $145 and $350.

The stock category saw a significant increase in numbers from last week, up 11,500 head to total 19,350 head.

The top line of hoggets hailed from Balaklava, SA and weigh 71kgs. Offered by A/c ‘Tiller and Thompson’, the July shorn ewes are of Moorundie Bloodlines and will journey to Bordertown, SA.

Young Merino breeders (2-4 years) sold from $159 to $332 to average $252, up $36 from last week.

The top price for the category was offered by vendors JP and MJ Lewis which consisted of NSM ewes weighing 83kgs.

Another highlight for the category consisted of SIL ewes offered by A/c ‘Scott Groat Pty Ltd’ from Goolgowi, NSW which weigh 66kgs and returned $320.

Proven Merino breeders (aged 4+ years) remained firm on last week, averaging back $1 at $191 and selling between $117 and $307.

Offered by vendors A & N Hocking from Dingee, VIC, the top line consisted of Kettleson Park blood ewes weighing 75kgs with lambs at foot aged 2-3 months weighing 26kgs.

 

First cross ewe lambs achieved an 86% clearance rate this week with the stock category seeing a $23 price increase to average $292 with prices ranging from $217 to $360.

The top price was achieved in the Narrandera Annual Spring 1st cross ewe sale and consisted of future breeder ewe lambs weighing 82kgs. Offered by A/c ‘RJ and DL Conway’ from Grong Grong, NSW the May/June ’19 drop lambs are sired by Cadell Rams.

Ewes with lambs at foot (LAF) continued to see some big prices this week, with the stock category averaging $5 dearer at $305 and prices ranging from $220 to $493.

The top line was offered by A/c ‘D&T Jensen’ from Diggora, VIC and consisted of Australian White ewes weighing 78kgs with LAF aged 2-5 weeks.

Hailing from Nhill, VIC another highlight included a line of Border Leicester/Merino ewes with LAF weighing 68kgs which returned $440. Congratulations to vendors GK & AJ Stephan on a great result.

Across the Nullarbor to WA where sheep listings were boosted with the Elders WA Forward Contract Lamb sale. Listings for the week totaled 9,028 head, an increase of 7,197 head from last week.

Prices ranged between 265c to 313c. The top line from the lamb sale returned 313 c/kg live and consisted of 750 mixed sex lambs offered by the Hurst Family Trust from Dandaragan, WA.

Store lambs have hit the ground running this week, with numbers doubling from last week, increasing by 10,426 head to see a total of 21,176 head online.

The large offering failed to impede buyer confidence with clearance rates remaining strong at 96%. Prices for the stock category saw a price correction however, easing 37c to average 351c and ranging from 287c to 426c. Highlights include:
