From Peak Hill, NSW offered by A/c ‘Newag’ a line of 11-12-month Tootha blood ewes, weighing 45kg with a 12mm sin returned $242.
Merino ewe hoggets sold from $140 to $317, averaging $249, down $10 on last week. From Bethungura, NSW a line of 15-16-month-old Grasmere blood ewe hoggets, weighing 62kg 6mm skin, offered by A/c ‘EL & DE McKenzie’ returned the top price. Offered by A/c ‘MD & KA Ramsay’ from Warooka, SA a line of 14-15-month North Cowie & Carrie Cowie blood hoggets, weighing 62kgs with a 45mm skin returned $276.
Young Merino breeders (aged 2-4 years) averaged $232, selling from $157 to $291 down $56 on last week.
The top price was returned by two lines of rising 3 year old ewes offered by A/c ‘R and S Wearne’ from Caldwell, NSW.
These NSM Ewes are Leachim blood, weigh 79kg with a 25mm skin and are remaining in NSW. From Kerang, VIC offered by A/c ‘Koorangie Farms’ a line of rising 2 and 3 year old Collinsville and Lorelmo blood NSM ewes, weighing 59kgs Sep 20’ shorn, returned $217.
Proven Merino breeders (aged 4+ years) sold from $134 to $276, averaging $200, down $9.
From Binalong, NSW offered by A/c ‘Mylora Past Co’ a line of 2-6 year old Barooga and Performance blood ewes, weighing 64kg with a 57mm skin, SIL to Poll Dorset rams returned the top price. A line of rising 5 year old Morundie blood NSM ewes, weighing 63kg, Sep 20’ shorn, from Willalooka, SA offered by A/c ‘Tepco Proprietors’ returned $205.
The offering of Merino wether lambs remains strong with 26,947 head offered, achieving a 96% clearance.
Prices increased on last week selling from $103 to $154 to average $130, up $5. From Booroorban, NSW offered by A/c ‘East Loddon P/L’ a line of May/Jun 20’ drop East Loddon blood wethers, weighing 48kg with a 51mm skin returned the top price.
Merino wethers averaged $118, selling from $99 to $165 firm on last week. Offered by A/c ‘JH & RG Banks’ from Nyngan, NSW a line of 16-17 month old North Ahrose, Greenfields & Towalba blood wethers, weighing 62kg with a 51mm skin returned the top price.
First cross ewe lambs eased this week selling from $225 to $353, averaging $265, down $40.
The top price was returned by a line of Feb/Mar 20’ drop 1st cross ewe lambs weighing 64kgs, offered by A/c ‘KJ & BM Fairman’ from Beckom, NSW. From Lake Marmal, VIC offered by A/c ‘JN & PM Byrne Pty Ltd’ a line of Apr/May 20’ drop 1st cross future breeders, weighing 47kg returned $290.
First cross ewe hoggets averaged $332, selling from $321 to $361, up $12. From Beckom, NSW a line of 16-17 month old 1st cross hoggets, weighing 78kgs offered by A/c ‘KJ & BM Fairman’ from, Beckom, NSW returned the top price.
The older offering of first cross ewes averaged $288, selling from $212 to $336. From Woodend, VIC offered by A/c ‘GG Younger’ a line of rising 3 year old 1st cross hoggets, weighing 68kgs returned the top price.
Store lamb numbers increased again this week to total 28,067 head, up 9,413 head. Demand for the stock category continues with 100% clearance achieved for the second week in a row.
Prices remained firm on last week selling from 328c to 728c, averaging 407c. Highlights include;

– Jul/Aug 20’ drop, 32kg, SAMM store wether lambs from IVANHOE, New South Wales sold for 451c or $142.
– May/Jun 20’ drop, 33kg, Border Leicester/Merino wether suckers from VIOLET TOWN, Victoria sold for 435c or $138.
