Merino ewe lambs average $239 and top at $300

Sucker-lambs-waggaMerino ewe lamb numbers were low last week, but prices were far from low ranging from $198.50 to $300 to average $239.

The tops hailed from Rylstone, NSW for a quality line of August/September 2019 drop future breeders. These ewes are unjoined and have 67mm of wool.

Merino ewe hoggets ranged from $162 to $320 to average $249. The tops were for a line of 1.5 – 1.6-year-old ewe hoggets. Ewes are located in Karoonda, SA and are vendor bred by “Wegner Brothers”, are unjoined and have a 25mm skin.

Young Merino ewes (2-4 years) ranged from $165 to $301 to average $214. The tops were for a line of 2-4-year-old ewes from Wellington, NSW.

These girls will be traveling just over 1,000km into South Australia which they call their new home for the warmer months ahead. Ewes are unjoined and have 10mm of wool, remarkable effort to vendors “SWAG AG” on breeding this great line of ewes.

Merino proven preeders (4 years +) were in high supply this week with strong results achieved for this category. Prices ranged from $137 to $247 to average $182.

The tops hailed from Congargo, NSW for a quality line of 5 – 5.5-year-old ewes. Ewes and unjoined, have 76mm of wool and are staying within NSW. Well done to vendors “DD & AL Bull” on a great result.

Merino ewes and lambs were in low supply this week with prices ranging from $249 to $322 to average $290.

The tops hailing out west at Wilcannia, NSW with 4.5 – 5.5-year-old ewes with Merino 3-4-month-old Merino lambs at foot. Ewes are unjoined and are freshly shorn with a 2mm skin. Congratulations to vendors “AC & TR Greenshields”.

Merino wether lambs were in high supply and demand this week. Prices ranged from $106 to $159 to average $135.

The tops are March/April drop with 4mm skin, weighing 47.6kg live. Wethers are from Soomandook, SA and are heading east into Victoria to potentially grow out as wool growers or fatten for trade.

First cross ewe lambs presenting well this week with prices ranging from $247 to $342 to average $306. The top line in the category was a lot of May/June drop future breeder ewe lambs from Lake Charm, VIC. Ewes are unjoined and have a 50mm wool and the vendors were “Bright Futures Livestock”.

First cross ewe hoggets ranged from $325 to $353 to average $341. The tops hailing from Dunedoo, NSW and making the 1,000km trip south to Kaniva, VIC. These girls are 12-13 months old and have 8mm of wool along with ewes being 100% scanned empty. Well done DJ & RM Rhodes.

Other stand out lines included White Dorper ewes from Trundle, NSW making $388. Ewe are 14-15 months old and are SIL to White Dorper and Dorper rams. These girls are staying within the Central West, NSW. Excellent result to vendors “Kerin Partnership” on a great result.

Another line included Australian White ewe suckers from Trangie, NSW that made $375. Ewes are July/August drop and have a 25mm skin. Amazing result for vendors “M & J Attard” on breeding a great line of ewes.
