Jennings pays $10,000 for Dryfield Kingpin Surprise

The recent Dispersal Sale of the Dryfield herd of C Steel and S Church of Numurkah met strong competition from buyers throughout Victoria and NSW.

Sale top of $10,000 was paid by Jonno Jennings of Chapple Vale for Dryfield Kingpin Surprise, VG 86, this 10th gen EX & VG 3 year old bred from the Leader Satin family is from an EX Damion dam and had won the Northern Vic 2 year old OFC in 2019.

Next top at $8,500 was the 5 year old, Dryfield Goldwood Paradise, VG 88, this Atwood from an EX 91 dam sold to Strongbark Holsteins of Albion Park, NSW. Her 3 year old VG Solomon daughter completing 120 generations of EX & VG sold at $5,500 to Emma Pouw of Cooriemungle.

Lot 1, the VG 88 2 year old heifer Dryfield DD Tonio, backed by 4 gens of EX dams from the Tahora, NZ, Murribrook Toni family sold at $7,000 to J Hiscock & Sons of Numurkah.

Local breeder Mark Meyland paid $6,000 for Dryfield Doorman Missymoo (Imp.ET) VG, from an EX Bradnick from Gold Missy, EX 95. The same buyer also selected Dryfield Doorman Robina at $4,500.

Volume buyers throughout the sale, Munden Farms from Nilma North paid $5,250 for Dryfield Aftershock Paradise, VG 88, $5,000 for Dryfield Aftershock Robina, VG 86 a lovely young cow from the Murribrook Robina family, $4,650 for Dryfield Goldchip Lulu, VG 88 bred from the famed Hanover Hill Lulu family and $4,250 for Dryfield Bradnick Paradise.

Other noted sales included Dryfield Goldendreams Michelle, VG 89 at $4,500 to P & S Daniels of Nathalia. Dryfield Springman Missy, a fresh 2 year old at $4,250 to Oakhampton Dairies of Colac and $4,000 for the exceptionally milky heifer Dryfield Capitalgain Surprise selling to J & J Pedretti of Tallygaroopna.

Also sold at this sale was the Ayrshire cow, Rockvale Sherlock Vivienne a/c the Est of S Wadley selling at $5,300.

The Eagle Ridge herd of R & K Eagle sold a line of cows, many calving in the Autumn to a top of $4,600 for Eagle Ridge CEO GWA Polka 3, from a VG 88 Atwood dam and due to King Doc, she sold B Glass of Gundowring. The same buyer also selected Eagle Ridge Maintime GC Polly due to Chief at $4,200 and Eagle Ridge Frost Pricilla and Eagle Ridge Frost L Pauline both at $4,200. Return buyers Eloora Past Co of Blighty, NSW paid $4,500 for Eagle Ridge Jacoby Polly.
