The top price was achieved by a line of scanned in lamb (SIL) ewe hoggets which weighed 60kg, with 50mm skins, of pure Westray bloodlines from Curban, NSW. These ewe hoggets will make the journey to Garah, NSW.
Young Merino breeders (2-4 years) were priced from $193 to $353/head, to average $271/head.
A line of SIL ewes from Temora, NSW achieved the top price, weighing 73kg, with 25mm skins and will travel to Spicers Creek, NSW.
Proven Merino breeders (4+ years) were priced from $221 to $375/head, to average $284/head.
The top line consisted of SIL ewes from Peak Hill, NSW, which weighed 82kg and had 50mm skins. The Leachim blood ewes will travel to Narromine, NSW.
Merino wether lambs sold from $132 and $164/head, to average $147/head.
The top line hailed from Rand, NSW, consisting of April/May 20’ drop store wether lambs weighing 45kg, with 30mm skins. The wether lambs will travel to Albury, NSW.
First cross ewe lambs sold from $242 to $323/head, to average $272/head.
A line of May/June 20’ drop Border Leicester/Merino ewe lambs from Yando, VIC, weighing 59kg, achieved the top price. The lambs had 20mm skins and will travel to Narrandera, NSW.
Tasmania registered a total offering of 539 head this week, with a 100% clearance rate.
The offering consisted of crossbred mixed sex suckers, with the top line consisting of Aug/Oct 20’ drop Southdown/Merino suckers weighing 33kg from Ross, TAS.
This line returned $133/head, or 410c/kg and will journey to Western Junction, TAS.
The store lamb offering totaled 10,070 head this week, accounting for 43% of the catalogue. Prices ranged from 383c/kg to 588c/kg, to average 462c/kg. Highlights include:
