The Points Megasire Pam tops at $5800 at Holstein sale

The-pointsWestern Victorian Breeders Ian and Karen McKie of The Points Holsteins staged a successful sale of Autumn calved cows and heifers.

The auction was conducted from the DLS Office online through the Elite Livestock Auctions platform, while the cows remained on the farm.

An open day was held two days prior to the auction giving potential buyers an opportunity to view the offering.

Sale top of $5,800 was paid for The Points Megasire Pam, VG 86, a fine young cow bred from the famed Carmar Pam family, she sold to Emu Banks Holsteins of B & J Dickson of Terang.

The same buyers also selected The Points Undenied Hoppy, a GP 84 2 year old showing much potential at $4,400.

Second top of the auction at $5,300 was The Points Sammy Minisota, an EX 90 7 year old bred down from the renowned Marlene maternal line, she was purchased by Munden Farms of Nilma North in Gippsland.
Local Breeder Tim Fleming paid the next high of $4,900 for The Points Solomon Kay, a VG 86 3 year old backed by 4 more generations of EX & VG.

Strong buyers throughout the sale was G & T Dehne of Cohuna included in their selections were The Points Megasire Lucy, VG 86 at $4,800, The Points Bradnick Peta, a 6th generation EX & VG 4 year old at $4,200, The Points Corvette Dekol at $4,100 and The Points Maintime Judy also at $4,100.

Other noted sales included The Points Guthrie Judy, VG 89 at $4,600 to P Fullerton of Nirranda South and The Points Galaxy Lucy at $4,200 to Justin Smart of Colac.

The sale was conducted by Dairy Livestock Services and Cullen Marketing who reported 49 Holsteins av $3,700 for a 100% clearance to buyers in all parts of Victoria.
