Interested Breeders from all over Australia were bidding on the outstanding heifers auctioned at the recent Eagle Ridge Heifer Dispersal offered by Master Breeders Russell and Kerry Eagle.
The sale was held at the Koonwarra South Gippsland Selling Centre and also received much bidding via Elite Livestock Auctions.
Sale top of $7,250 was paid by return buyer MW Adams of Stony Creek for the in-milk heifer Eagle Ridge Envious Tiffany, this classy young cow is from Eagle Ridge Goldsun S Tiffany, EX 90 with records to 500 kgs fat.
The same buyer also selected Eagle Ridge Jacoby Sky Julie due to King Doc at $6,000 and Eagle Ridge Goldsun L Paula a top young milking heifer backed by several gens of 12,000 litre dams at $5,000.
Second high seller at $7,000 was Eagle Ridge Lambda By Pollyanna, a smart heifer backed by exceptionally high %fat selling to Inlet View Dairy. The same buyer also selected Eagle Ridge Devour F Polka-Red, a powerful, very correct Red heifer due to Unstopabull-Red at $6,500.
The well known Tomargo Recluse herd of S & E Chesworth of Dubbo, NSW selected Eagle Ridge Doc GC Pollyanna from a 539 kg fat Gold Chip dam at $6,500 and Eagle Ridge Denver Bro Polly who’s 4 direct dams av 487 kgs fat at $5,250. Another NSW Breeder to select top lots was S Whatman of Goolagong who purchased Eagle Ridge Rambo AMZ Pollyanna, a daughter of the 2019 Victorian Winter Fair Champion Eagle Ridge Amazing G Pollyanna, EX 91 at $5,750.
Return buyers K & H Jones of Foster paid $5,500 for the classy heifer Eagle Ridge Callen A Hanna. Also sold at the sale was Burn Brae Sunlight Stylish a 2nd lactation grand daughter of Goldenflo Dundee Stylish, EX 92 (Can) a/c A & J Mackie selling to Munden Farms at $5,200. Dornbrae Glauco Maggie, EX 90 backed by the Shoremar Maggie family at $4,800 to Krishlaye Holsteins.
She was one of a line sold by Steve Dorning. Bruce Fuller sold 3 top fresh heifers including Newhope Landslide Butter at $4,500 selling to Staley Farms of Yarram.
Following the registered Holsteins two lines of well bred Commercial Holstein Cows sold to a top of $4,500.
