Segenhoe Park Impress Lorraine tops Segenhoe Park dispersal at $7000

Segenhoe-Park-sale-Buyers from all parts of Victoria bid freely at the First Stage Complete Dispersal Sale of Segenhoe Park Holsteins of Master Breeders David and Glenyce Johnston held at the Mortlake Selling Centre.

Sale top of $7,000 was paid for the outstanding close to calving cow, Segenhoe Park Impress Lorraine backed by several generations of high VG dams with huge longevity, she was purchased by Profitable Cattle Company.
Next top of $6,500 was the 8th gen EX & VG cow Segenhoe Park Steady Koo (pictured) bred from the famed Avonlea Koo family, she was purchased by P & M Kerr of Cobden.

Strong buyers throughout the sale were B & S Glass of Gundowring, included in their selections were Segenhoe Park Bailey Lara, bred from the Lorraine line at $6,300 and Segenhoe Park Stanton Sharp, a fine young cow from the noted Plana/Onkavale S family at $5,250.

The well known Elm Banks herd paid $6,000 for the VG 87 2nd lact cow Segenhoe Park Impress Merle. Also at $6,000 was Segenhoe Park FR Pansy, a great uddered cow selling to P & C Castle of Allansford. Chocolyn Park Holsteins of Camperdown paid $5,000 for the young VG cow Segenhoe Park LP Gem. Also at $5,000 was the very last lot in the sale Segenhoe Park Reginald Mandy, VG 86 selling to well known local Breeder Brett Cirillo.

It was wonderful at the start of the sale to see David Johnston awarded his much deserved Life Member Badge from Holstein Australia.

Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services and Elders report – 91 Holstein Cows gross $328,250 to av $3,610.
