Herefords Australia CEO tenders resignation

Alex Ball has resigned from his position as CEO of Herefords Australia.

Herefords Australia chief executive officer Alex Ball has announced his resignation, effective from June 30.

Herefords Australia chairman Pat Pearce said Dr Ball would continue to operate as the CEO until June 30 and had the full support of the board to do so.

“The board of Herefords Australia has commenced a process to identify the management and staffing requirements beyond 1st July 2017 and will inform members in due course of those requirements and what appointments are necessary,” Mr Pearce said.

A leading red meat scientist, Dr Ball worked as southern production and program manager of eating quality, and general manager of strategic innovation at Meat and Livestock Australia before joining Herefords Australia in July last year.

Herefords Australia directors Lachlan Day, of South Australia, and Peter Sykes, of Victoria, recently tendered their resignation.
