Tbone’s Marie daughter sells for $8500 at Jersey dispersal

Jersey-2Jersey Breeders from all parts of Victoria and as far afield as Dorrigo and Tamworth in NSW were at the Shepparton Selling Centre for the Second stage complete dispersal Sale of the Mikandan Jersey Stud, on account of Tony & Bev Edwards from Corryong.

The offering comprised of all forward Autumn calving heifers presented in tremendous form.

Sale top of $8500 was paid by return buyers Saunders & Day of Araluen Park Jerseys, Shady Creek for Mikandan Valentino Marie 2398, a daughter of the 2015 National Jersey Challenge Champion 4 year old, Mikandan TBone’s Marie 175, EX 91.

These buyers also selected the next high lot Mikandan Valentino’s Caramel 2372 a daughter of a 9800 litre Centurion dam at $8000. Araluen Park also selected Mikandan Valentino’s Lizabeth 2352 at $4700.

Darren Smith of Pinnacle Park Jerseys, Stanhope paid the third sale high of $5750 for the outstanding Mikandan TBones Daisy 2361, from an EX 91 dam and a 9100 litre 2nd dam. Same buyer also selected lot 1 Mikandan TBone’s Rosebud 2358 at $4300.

Other noted sales included Mikandan Irwin’s Lilac 2355 at $4500 and Mikandan TBone’s Twinkle 2350 at $4000 both selling to return buyers D & R Ross of Heath Hill.

Mikandan TBone’s Rohda 2369 at $4000 to D & T Bryce of Allansford and Mikandan Barnabas Mabel 2390 at $4000 to Marks Bros of Dorrigo, NSW who purchased her dam at last year’s sale.

Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report the 43 Heifers from Mikandan av $2800 for a total clearance.

They also report AI Bred Holstein heifers sold to $2300, X Breds to $1900 in a very strong market.
