A Murray Grey-Limousin cross has won grand champion carcass at the Canberra Royal, scoring 93 points.
The steer was exhibited by Williams River Cattle Company, Morton.
It had a carcase weight of 257kg, a dressing percentage of 59.5% and scored maximum points for P8 fat, fat colour, rib eye area, rib fat depth and meat colour, and scored 3 out of 5 points for marbling.
The Open Champion on the hoof which went on to take out the Grand Champion award was a Limousin X steer exhibited by Ben Toll, Sheraton Limousins, Dubbo.
This was also a back to back win for Limousin having won Grand Champion led steer at last year’s Canberra Royal as well.
Reserve Champion Open on the hoof was a Limousin exhibited by Brisbane Waters Secondary College, Umina.
The Schools Champion on the hoof was a Speckle Park x Limousin exhibited by St Johns College, Dubbo.
