Charolais steer wins grand champion carcass at 2016 Sydney Royal

sydney-win-4A steer bred by Anthony Labib, Axios A Charolais stud and exhibited by St Johns College, Dubbo has won the grand champion carcase at Sydney Royal.

Along the way the carcase was also awarded heavyweight champion carcase and won a gold medal. The carcase scored an impressive 93 points including perfect points for fat cover.

Three Charolais carcases won a silver award, these steers were from Airlie, Myona and Polldale Charolais.

In the Trade section a Charolais Angus Silver Calf bred by Winchester Charolais and exhibited by River Bend Catholic College, Forbes won the Champion Taste Test.

This carcase also won a Silver Medal and another Silver Calf from Winchester won a Bronze medal.

Another two bronze medals were won by St Mary’s College Gunnedah with Charolais cross Silver Calves and Wingham High School won a Bronze medal with another Silver Calf.
