Dairy Livestock Services reported strong demand over all types of dairy cattle at their early Autumn Sale at Shepparton on March 12.
The sale kicked off with a line of March – April calving heifers from the high production Ovensdale Illawarra herd of Robert Newton at Whorouly.
Sale top of $2750 was paid by Dustin Gale of Dingee for Ovensdale Scarlet 319 a daughter of a 419 kg fat dam with PI’s to 118. The same buyer also purchased next high lot Ovensdale Scarlet 322 from a 450 kg dam.
Sam Fitzsimmons of Merrigum paid $2500 for Ovensdale Scarlet 325.
Other noted sales included Ovensdale Pixie 133 at $2600 and Jenny 93 at $2400 to James Breen of Beeac who selected 9 lots.

Overall 105 calved and joined females of all Breeds av $1675.00. Selling agents DLS report the 123 lots av $1505.00 and gross of $185100.00
