Pine Park Charolais, Angus & Red Angus held their annual Cream of the Crop sale, Tuesday 12th April.
The sale was well supported by new and repeat buyers. Pine Park D213 Bravo K148 topped the sale at $7,500 sold to new Charolais breed buyers the Rattray Family from Herrick.
He will go into a large commercial cows herd. This bull sparked a lot of interest (both to Charolais and Angus) at the sale when sale attendee’s realised this bull was in the breed’s top 1% for IMF, Rib & Rump fat, top 2% for EMA and top 5% for calving ease.
This bull has all the commercial attributes a modern day Charolais terminal sire needs.
Charolais sale average $4,300 with 6 of the 7 bulls sold within Tasmania.
On the Angus front, 9 of 13 black bulls sold to an average $3,388 with the top price bull $5,250 going into the Rotherwood Angus stud as their new stud sire. Only 2 Red Angus were offered with 1 selling to $4,000.
