Rosedale Charolais tops at $18,000 at annual bull sale

  • A good crowd was in attendance on a warmish Blayney Autumn Day. 54/60 polled Charolais Bulls were sold to an average sale price of $6,264 with a top of $18,000 for Lot 8 Rosedale Lump Sum , a homozygous polled yearling bull sired by Rosedale Fairlane sold to Ascot Charolais.

    10/10 PTIC Charolais Heifers were sold for an average of $3,000 and a top price of $4,500.

    20/25 Charolais Composite Bulls sold to an average price of $5,925 and topping at $9,000 (twice)

    Despite a slight drop in the clearance rate, 2016 set records at Rosedale in terms of both the Sale average and the highest selling price. Most bulls went into commercial herds with a number of the Charolais bulls going to stud sire duties with buyers emerging from 4 states. The sale was conducted by Elders along with Bowyer & Livermore with Paul Dooley & Nick Fogherty auctioneering.
