THE VFF Livestock Group will elect a new council at the annual VFF Conference in July, with the main contest being for the position of Vice President.
Ouyen cattle producer Leonard Vallance has been nominated unopposed for President.
But three contenders will battle for the Vice Presidency – Bagshot farmer Alister Knight, Beaufort farmer James Kirkpatrick and Harrow farmer Michael Craig.
“I congratulate the Livestock Group President-elect Leonard Vallance and wish him well in his new role,” Mr Feldtmann said.
“It’s a privilege to represent the VFF Livestock Group as a council member and I wish all candidates the best of luck.”
Mr Feldtmann was impressed by the enthusiasm shown by members in nominating for the executive, as a result of the Livestock Group’s policy achievements.
“I believe our strong policy representation on livestock issues has shown results can be achieved and that in turn has encouraged producers to stand for election,” he said.
“I’m buoyed about the upcoming elections with keen interest shown in participating in the electoral process for positions around the Livestock Council table to have input in the direction for agriculture in Victoria.”
“All members are encouraged to take this opportunity to have a say in who represents them on issues that affect their day-to-day operations.”
