Shorthorn breeds clears $2 million worth of bulls

Shorthorn-bullWhat a week for Shorthorn on-property bull sales it has been. In total 3 bull sales have been concluded with an incredible overall result, selling just over $2,000,000 worth of bulls in a tremendous vote of confidence for the individual programs and the Shorthorn breed.

A total of 201 bulls have sold for the week, for a 100% clearance, a top price of $38,000 reached 3 times and an overall average of $9,975.

The sales commenced on Wednesday with Yamburgan Shorthorns posting a new Shorthorn breed record average of $10,930 and selling 100 Shorthorn bulls to a top price twice of $38,000.

Futurity Shorthorns followed on Thursday selling 51 Shorthorns sires to a top of $31,000 to a new on property record average of $10,127.

Royalla Shorthorns today have continued the breeds stellar run, selling 50 Shorthorn sires to a top of $38,000 and an outstanding average of $7,911.

With Shorthorn bull sales set to continue next week, all eyes will turn to the Dunbeacon Shorthorns on-property sale, Upper Horton, NSW and the Shorthorn Central Bull Sale, Forbes, NSW.
