VICTORIA’S peak dairy group is urging farmers to voice their concerns over the Federal Government’s Farm Household Allowance (FHA) at a series of forums around Victoria this week.
United Dairyfarmers of Victoria President Adam Jenkins said the meetings would be a prime opportunity to give feedback to the Government around its FHA package after many farmers found the application process confusing and frustrating.
“The Government is keen to work any administrative wrinkles out of the application and assessment process but to do that we need the direct feedback from farmers who have experienced the process this year,” Mr Jenkins said.
“So we’re encouraging dairy farmers to share their views on the package, including any delays they’re facing in accessing emergency financial assistance.”
The meetings are being convened by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, chaired by Senator Bridget McKenzie and will be held in the following locations from 10.30am:
- Thursday 15 December: Morwell Bowling Club, 52 Hazelwood Road, Morwell
- Friday 16 December: Camperdown Football Club, 15 Adeney Street, Camperdown
