Agents yarded 484 cattle at the SELX prime sale on January 5 with a reduced buying gallery on export cattle.
Cows showed a cheaper trend slipping 5-8 cents on the sale prior to Christmas but heavy steers and heifers were firm with feeder cattle and domestic weights 10-20 cents dearer.
