Feeder heifers were in demand and were firm on the light and medium weights selling from 260c to 334c/kg at SELX this week.
Cattle numbers eased and the quality was a little plainer.
Vealers were better supplied and while there was few prime yearlings, most lacked finish and sold to feeders.
Heavy cattle were limited and the few offered were back in quality. Cow numbers halved in a slightly better run. Not all the usual buyers were operating in a mostly cheaper market.
The best of the heavy trade vealer sold between 354c and 373c/kg. Restocking lines made to 387c/kg.

Trade cattle sold 11c cheaper on the medium weight steers with prices starting at 310c to a single at 358c/kg.
Grown steers and bullocks over 500kg ranged from 258c to 294c/kg. The feeder steers eased 5c/kg. Cows eased 3c to 4c with the medium weight 2 score cows ranging from 200c to 212c and the heavy 3 and 4 score 214c to 234c to average 225c/kg.
