The Limousin Muscle Sale topped at $8400 twice and averaged $3622 for the live lots offered on March 3.
The top price lots were Keystone Damsel L63 and KLG Etienne F12, both purchased by A & M Van der Drift and Sons.
The AuctionsPlus interfaced sale resulted in 101 live lots offered with 82 sold and 31 from 38 semen lots sold to average $400.
The sale recorded a clearance of just over 80% on Auctions Plus with a gross of $309,400. Leading the prices were two animals both selling for $8400.
The first of these was the Full French heifer Keystone Damsel L63 a daughter of Rocky and leading Keystone donor CDP Damsel D5 (a Vigot Daughter), a very powerful heifer she was sold to A & M Van der Drift and sons.
The Van der Drifts also purchased the other top price lot being KLG Etienne F12 a Tango (Champeval) daughter bred at Keystone and previously sold in Muscle Sale III to Peter Hill who presented the cow with a calf at foot as part of the reduction sale of his Divine Herd.
Top price bull of the sale was Keystone Polled Longshot (HP*) sold to Kel and Janelle Graham of Bella Valley Limousins at Lismore.
The Full French Viking son had been tested to be Homozygous polled and sold for $5600. The Graham’s purchased a total of 12 lots including the second top priced heifer Keystone Pearl L69 for $8300.
Keystone Pearl L69 was the first daughter of Bolide to be sold at auction in Australia with the 3 unjoined Bolide heifers in the sale averaging $5600, ranging in ages from 10 months to 18 months. Semen lots in the sale grossed $12,400 and topped at $400/straw for Dauphin semen.
