Piper Schillet grand champion parader at Shorthorn feature show

A shorthorn feature was held at Barraba on^{March 10-11 with} 35 head from 12 exhibitors assessed by Steven Peake, of Bowen Poll Herefords.

Exhibitors travelled from Condobolin in the Central West, through to Inverell in the North, to put together an excellent display of high quality cattle. Highlights included 6 cows over 24 months of age, 7 18-20 month old heifers and 7 bulls between 16-18months of age.

The Friday night started with the Junior Paraders competition where Shorthorn competitors did a fantastic job displaying their animals to their best.

Under 12years – 1^st Joshua Evans, 2^nd Logan Evans, 3^rd William O’Connor & 5^th George Amor

12-16years – 1^st Holly Turnbull, 2^nd Naomi White, 3^rd Clare Amor, 4^th Lara DeJong, 5^th Georgia Stimson

16-25years – 1^st Piper Schillert, 5^th Stephanie Murphy.

Piper Schillet then went on to be named the Grand Champion Parader

Shorthorn heifers were dominant in the Interbreed Junior Heifer Show winning 3 of the 4 classes.

The night concluded with a BBQ featuring Thousand Guineas Beef – which was enjoyed by exhibitors and commercial cattlemen alike.
